JA Worldwide Nominated for 2026 Nobel Peace Prize
We’re proud to share—internally—that JA Worldwide has been nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. Congratulations to our entire global network: staff, board members, teachers, volunteers, alumni coordinators, and partners whose daily work contributes to this recognition.
In an increasingly polarized global environment, JA’s focus on entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and cross-cultural understanding continues to demonstrate what meaningful, durable contributions to peace can look like. As we’ve long believed, peace is sustained through opportunity, dignity, and shared prosperity, and through young people who are equipped to shape their futures and build thriving communities.
A Shared Decision on How We Steward This Nomination
As a network, we have collectively decided not to announce this nomination publicly. That means we will not be sharing it on social media, posting it on websites, or issuing press releases—and we ask you to follow the same approach.
This decision reflects two considerations:
The current political climate, particularly in the United States, has made Nobel nominations a public flashpoint in ways that do not serve the spirit of the award or our mission.
The Nobel Committee itself explicitly discourages public promotion by nominees. Given the current environment, public amplification will not increase our likelihood of selection.
Taken together, abstaining from a public announcement allows us to remain fully aligned with the Nobel Committee’s expectations while keeping the focus where it belongs: on advancing opportunity, prosperity, and peace through our important mission.
Where and How the Nomination Can Be Used
Although we are not promoting the nomination publicly, there are appropriate and encouraged ways to acknowledge it:
Partner and funder conversations: You may reference the nomination—and include the provided slide—in presentations and decks used with current or prospective partners, funders, and institutional stakeholders.
Email signatures: You may include a discreet reference to the nomination in your email signature. Out of respect for the eventual winner, we ask that your signature(s) remove this reference once the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize winner is announced in October 2026.
Organizational context: It is entirely appropriate to acknowledge and celebrate this nomination internally . . . for example, within staff meetings, board meetings, and other internal forums.
Ongoing credentials: You are welcome to refer “to JA as a five-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee” in perpetuity. This reflects our history and credibility and does not conflict with Nobel Committee guidance.
To support consistent and respectful use, we will provide:
Downloadable graphics (which you can see below) for internal and partner-facing contexts
A PowerPoint slide designed for inclusion in partner decks
What we ask you not to do:
To ensure consistency across the network and alignment with Nobel guidance, please:
Do not post about the nomination on social media.
Do not add the nomination to public-facing websites or blogs.
Note that if you have an existing page on your website about the nomination (here’s an example), you can absolutely update that page to reflect this year’s nomination. But please do not feature that page in a new blog post, via a website announcement bar, or through a pop-up.
Do not issue a press release or speak with reporters about the nomination.
Do not create new public-facing videos, infographics, or standalone materials focused on the 2026 nomination.
As always, you’re encouraged to continue communicating the connection between entrepreneurship, job creation, economic empowerment, prosperity, peace, and thriving communities, centering our work and impact rather than on the nomination.
Looking Ahead
The 2026 nomination period concludes when the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize winner is announced the second Friday in October. As in past years, JA Worldwide will acknowledge and congratulate the winner at that time with a public post on our blog about his/her/their contribution to world peace.
Thank you for being a thoughtful steward of this recognition, and for the work you do every day to help young people build stronger, more peaceful communities around the world.
With gratitude and congratulations,
Asheesh and Tere
