Shattering Glass Form

Have a great piece of career advice for girls?

Every March, in conjunction with International Women’s Day, we release an updated edition of our popular ebook, Shattering Glass: Career Advice for Girls from JA. Originally published in 2021, we’d love to include your advice in the next edition, with representation from every JA location around the world. Here are some guidelines:

  • JA staff, board members, and alumni are welcome to submit advice. However, please remember that OneJA is for JA staff only, so please don’t share this form with anyone other than staff. Instead, contact Tere Stouffer if you have a board chair, long-time volunteer, or other non-staff member you would like to feature.

  • You do not have to identify as a woman to offer advice. This opportunity is open to all JA staff.

  • Please make your advice specific to girls, specific to your experiences as a girl or young woman, or specific to something that worked well for women you know. Some advice is universal, but please keep in mind that some approaches that proved to be successful for young men will not always map to the experiences of young women in the workplace.

  • The advice should pertain to elements of a career path: choosing your passion, deciding on a major or area of expertise, choosing college versus trade school, leading, innovating, advancing, taking chances, changing jobs, juggling family and other interests with job duties, and more. Review the most recent edition for more ideas.

  • If you submitted career advice for a previous edition, you may change your name or title, change your JA location, or change your quote by using the form below.
